Wolf Creek Wildlife Area
In Morgan County, the best birding spot is Wolf Creek Wildlife Area. It has many small lakes that attracts waterfowl, grassland, and second-growth woodland species, all within walking distance. This is a great place to look for Woodcocks in the early spring.

Buckeye Trail
​With over 60 eBird hotspots and Audubon “Important Bird Areas”, the Buckeye Trail is not only Ohio’s largest hiking trail but the longest birding trail.

Appalachian Hills Wildlife Area
​Appalachian Hills is becoming increasingly popular as a bird watching destination. Many bird species, some rare, are found throughout the unique grassland/brushland landscape. 570 ring-necked pheasants have been released to date.

Burr Oak State Park
You will find an Interactive Nature Display at the lodge, a Nature Center nearby, and miles of trails. Nature programs including birdwatching are offered.
