A quiet Gem


Remote Burr Oak State Park is a quiet gem with 2,593-acres of scenic wooded hills and a 600-acre "no wake" lake. You can enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, boating, disc golf and relaxing at the lodge or a cabin.

Burr Oak State Park & Resort

​​​Perched atop a hill overlooking Burr Oak Lake, Burr Oak Lodge & Conference Center blends beautifully into the surrounding forest setting. Accommodations include a 60-room lodge with a variety of guestrooms and 30 cottages scattered throughout the adjacent hillsides. All cottages are located within one mile of the lodge, offering air-conditioning, screened-in porches, fully furnished kitchens, televisions and four to six beds.

Within the lodge you will find the Cardinal Dining Room, the Wren Lounge, a Fred Harvey Gift Shop, an indoor pool, a beautiful A-frame ceiling and glass-enclosed lobby with lovely lake views, wood-burning fireplace, large screen TV and 6 meeting rooms that accommodate up to 250 people. With its “getting away from it all” feeling, Burr Oak is the logical choice for retreats and conferences of all kinds.

​In fact, the lodge’s architectural design makes it a perfect location for weddings and receptions, many of which are held at the lodge year-round. Tour groups are also welcome. There is ample parking for buses.

Smoke Rise Ranch

Smoke Rise Ranch and Resort is nestled in the rolling hills​ of Southeastern Ohio. The resort is a working cattle ranch that offers guests an opportunity to experience the adventures of the west, not so far from home. 

Located just 7 miles from Burr Oak State Park, Smoke Rise is comprised of 2000 acres of privately owned land, bordered by a wildlife management area and the Wayne National Forest, totaling over 30,000 continuous acres.

This cozy, private, adults only cabin is nestled deep inside a valley of 3 wooded acres and built into a hillside in Burr Oak State Park. The park is located inside the beautiful Wayne National Forest…the foothills to the Appalachian Mountains in Ohio.

Bordering Burr Oak State Park at Dock Area #2, it's a wonderful retreat for families, friends, couples, or hunting parties. Get all the benefits of the State Park and 664-acre lake while enjoying your very own private residence. This 2-bedroom cottage is situated in a peaceful forested, lakeside neighborhood. In the late fall and winter months, you will enjoy lake views from the deck. Spring and summer you will enjoy views of the forest. Sleeps 6.

Burr Oak State Park Campground
​Located in southeast Ohio, quiet and remote Burr Oak State Park has a rustic country charm in its 2,593-acre scenery of wooded hills and valley farms. As one of Ohio's resort parks, Burr Oak offers a wide array of overnight accommodations with its lodge, cabins and campground. Burr Oak blends modern conveniences with the wilderness spirit of Ohio. 123 campsites with showers, flush toilets and a dump station in the main campground. A group camp and equestrian camp are also available. A resort lodge in the park across the lake offers a full-service restaurant. Nature center and naturalist on site with seasonal activities. Many miles of hiking trails are available, including one with a disc golf course through the woods.

Burr Oak Getaways offers this summertime hotspot at Dock #2. Grab-n-go meal items such as deli sandwiches and wraps, craft-soda ice cream floats, snacks, energy drinks, gatorade, pop, picnic & camp groceries, delicious Mountain Rampage Wild Ramp Hot Sauce, other local food items and more.

You'll find expanded fishing, camping gear and lake necessities as well as live bait including night crawlers, wax worms, gold fish and minnows.
