Burr Oak State Park & Resort
Perched atop a hill overlooking Burr Oak Lake, Burr Oak Lodge & Conference Center blends beautifully into the surrounding forest setting. Accommodations include a 60-room lodge with a variety of guestrooms and 30 cottages scattered throughout the adjacent hillsides. All cottages are located within one mile of the lodge, offering air-conditioning, screened-in porches, fully furnished kitchens, televisions, and four to six beds. Chesterhill Produce Auction
Produce auctions are every Monday and Thursday at 4pm. In addition, every second Saturday of the month is Saturday at the CPA featuring livestock and specialty wood products. While visiting the auction, check out the Country Store for handcrafted products like candles, soap, purses, quilts, and rugs, as well as delicious baked goods. The Country Cooking Cart is open during each auction with hot food and beverages. |
Twin City Opera House

The Ohio Valley Opry
On the third Saturday of each month, the stage of the Twin City Opera House comes to life with the music of the Ohio Valley Opry - Ohio’s premier country, gospel, and bluegrass music show. Since the onset of the show in 2000, nearly 55,000 music fans have attended, making it the most popular live music show in the state. Muskingum River Parkway State Park
Looking for a great river adventure to share with your family? Consider boating the Muskingum River State Park in Ohio. 112 miles of Ohio History by water. The historic locks and dams built during canal days in 1841 offer a trip your will never forget. Many stops along the way include villages founded in the early days of Ohio's settlement, unique lodging, restaurants, and other opportunities for outdoor adventure. Boats with unlimited horsepower motors, house boats, pontoon boats, jet skis, canoes, and kayaks regularly travel the river. Many people enjoy fishing, birding, picnicking, camping, and enjoying the beautiful views along the way. Miner's Memorial Park & Big Muskie Bucket
Big Muskie was the largest dragline ever built and an engineering marvel. Today, visitors can climb inside the bucket and imagine what it took to make such an enormous thing move. The Wall of Honor is another highlight of the area, showcasing past and present employees of Central Ohio Coal Company, the AEP subsidiary that operated the Big Muskie. In addition to the memorial features found in this part of the park, visitors can enjoy a picnic area with a shelter and a scenic overlook of the area. |
