Shortly after returning to McConnelsville in 2016, Mark Ponchak started to experiment with growing lavender on the family farm. That little experiment has blossomed into a bit of an obsession, not to mention 350 more lavender plants dotted around town. Currently, the Ponchaks are tending Lavender Phenomenal and Hidcote Blue varieties with their two dogs (Dazzi and Lolli) and four Indian Runner ducks (Shasta, Ouiser, Beverly & Nancy). The Ponchaks joined the US Lavender Growers Association in 2019 and their varieties are available in dried bundles.
