The Quakers settled in Chesterhill in 1843 and made it a sanctuary for the formerly enslaved traveling toward freedom on the Underground Railroad. The Multi-Cultural Genealogical Center was set up as a constant reminder of Chesterhill's rich history. The annual Fireman's Festival is a celebration of community with a parade, food, and games. It happens every second Saturday in July. The Chesterhill Produce Auction can be found just outside of the village limits.
